The Executive Director of the National Commission on Culture (NCC), Mr. Wakefield Ackuoku, has paid a working visit to the Greater Accra Centre for National Culture to engage with key management on the development and promotion of Ghanaian culture.

The visit, which took place on Tuesday, focused on discussing critical issues aimed at enhancing the operations of the Centre and improving the overall cultural landscape of the country.

The Executive Director in a brief meeting with the management team of the Centre outlined the government’s commitment to supporting cultural institutions across the country, emphasising the importance of culture in national development.

He noted that the Centre is a key part of the Commission’s strategy in promoting the government’s Blackstar Experience programme, a vibrant celebration of Ghanaian culture, history, and innovation, reflecting the country’s rich heritage and its journey to independence, which is essential to shaping national identity and fostering tourism.

He expressed his admiration for the dedication of the team and the role the Centre plays in preserving Ghana’s rich cultural heritage.

Following the conclusion of the meeting, the Director embarked on a tour of the center, inspecting the gallery and retail shops on the compound. The gallery was filled with vibrant artworks that depicted historical and contemporary life in Ghana, while the shops showcased exquisite crafts made by local artisans.
