A Message from The National Commission On Culture On Black Star Christmas

At the National Commission on Culture, we know Christmas in Ghana speaks for itself. When the harmattan breeze starts blowing and the leaves begin to fall, we feel it — Christmas is here. When we see the masquerades, the Kaakaamotobi singing and dancing through our streets and communities, then we know Christmas has truly arrived. Children wear their Christmas hats, everybody steps out in their beautiful traditional clothes, and every home eats Ghanaian dishes. That is when we greet each other _Afioo Afi, Afihyiapoo , Ƒe yeye na mi katã!,Yupaale !!!

That is why we are proud to stand as a key partner for Black Star Christmas. This is not just another event on the December calendar. This is Ghana telling her own Christmas story. For years the world has celebrated Christmas, but now we are inviting the world to celebrate Christmas the Ghanaian way — authentic, communal, creative and deeply rooted in our heritage, with all 16 regions shining under one Black Star.

Our role as the Commission is to ensure this celebration remains true to who we are — preserving our heritage, empowering our cultural practitioners, and creating a platform where our creatives can thrive. Together with GD Visionary Group Limited, the Diaspora Affairs Office, Kornerstonez, the Black Star Experience and other stakeholders, we are creating a space where tradition meets innovation. We invite you to come home this December and experience a Christmas that has soul, rhythm, and is proudly Ghanaian.
