NCC Signs MoU with Africa–Caribbean Exchange to Deepen Cultural and Youth Collaboration
The National Commission on Culture (NCC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Africa–Caribbean Exchange as part of its mandate to preserve, promote, and develop Ghana’s cultural heritage while strengthening international cultural relations.
The engagement brought together officials of the Commission and representatives from the Africa–Caribbean Exchange to deliberate on issues of cultural identity, historical narratives, youth empowerment, and Africa–Caribbean cooperation. Discussions emphasized the importance of culture in fostering national unity, shaping identity, and projecting Ghana’s image globally.
Presentations by the Africa–Caribbean Exchange outlined initiatives focused on trade facilitation, cultural diplomacy, youth development, digital innovation, and educational exchanges between Africa and the Caribbean. Special attention was given to youth-centered programmes in agriculture, technology, creative industries, and cultural education.
The MoU establishes a framework for institutional collaboration in areas including:
- Cultural exchange and diplomacy
- Youth development and capacity building
- Education and heritage promotion
- Advocacy for creative justice and sustainable development
Speaking at the ceremony, NCC officials reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to partnerships that empower young people, preserve cultural identity, and promote a unified African narrative.
The signing of the MoU marks the beginning of a strategic partnership dedicated to advancing culture-led development and strengthening ties between Africa and the Caribbean.
