As part of the Black Star Experience, an initiative introduced under the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama, the Center for National Culture (CNC), Greater Accra, joined in the celebration of Food Month today, marking the Day of August Month under the Black Tie Experience calendar.
In recognition of Ghana’s rich cultural heritage and diverse culinary traditions, staff of CNC, Greater Accra, divided themselves into five groups, each tasked with preparing indigenous traditional dishes representing different parts of the country – from the north to the south, east to west, and the central heartland.
The menu reflected the nation’s unique food heritage: Fufu with Abunuabunu light soup Banku with okro stew Kɔmi kɛ kena (Ga kenkey with fried fish and pepper) Ɛto (mashed ripe plantain with groundnut/egg) Kpokpoi with palm nut soup Mpotompotor (plantain pottage) Ampesi with abomu (boiled yam/plantain with spicy sauce) Omotuo (rice)
